Ubisoft has put out a fresh teaser trailer for the next chapter in the Assassin's Creed series. Under the guise of showing players some of the weapons they'll be dispatching Templars and other interlopers with, the trailer reveals some biographical info about the main character, an assassin with mixed Native American and British ancestry:
Our hero is named Connor, which is apparently short for Ratohnhaké:ton. Good luck pronouncing that. Connor hails from the Mohawk Valley, so a trip to Wikipedia's Mohawk language page should provide some clues. I understand the acute accent and colon seem to signify a stressed, prolonged vowel with a high pitch or tone. The more you know!
Anyway, Assassin's Creed III will have our hero wielding dual pistols, a tomahawk, a bow and arrows, and the good old hidden blade, which has become a staple of the series' weaponry. The second title in the franchise already featured a pistol, but dual-wielding old-timey handguns sounds fun. I might just pick this game up when it hits stores on October 30.
