Scoop 3: Whats wrong with MSI's K7T266?

— 3:46 AM on April 20, 2001

An MSI rep at the AMD Tech Team dinner, when pressed very hard for info (I had to go steal the Asus rep's only pen for him), reported that the R126/R127 resistor mod on K7T266 affects memory type/speed detection. Apparently, the original layout detected the RAM as PC133 instead of PC2100, or PC100 instead of PC1600. I'm not sure how such a thing would actually work, but that's what the guy told me.
