This week’s deals post is all over the map. I could attempt to weave it all together nicely, but that sounds like an awful lot of work, and my mind’s stuck somewhere between yesterday’s July 4th holiday and the approaching weekend. Bulleted lists it is, then. Let’s start with a couple of gaming bundles.
- Fancy gorgeous Steampunk shooters? Amazon has a BioShock triple-pack that includes the original, BioShock 2, and the latest BioShock Infinite for just $40.
- If you haven’t played the last two Batman games, you’re missing out. Arkham Asylum and its Arkham City sequel are fantastic, and both are available from Amazon in a GOTY pack for only $11.50.
Those Amazon bundles list "Steam" as the DRM, by the way. Looks like you get redeemable download codes for Valve’s content distribution platform.
And now, this week’s grab-bag of hardware deals.
- TigerDirect is selling the Haswell-based Core i5-4670K for only $200 after a 15% discount and coupon code WIS95182. That’s $25 cheaper than the going rate at Amazon and $40 less than you’ll pay at Newegg. Shipping is free today, as well.
- Asus’ 24" PA248Q is down to $290 at Newegg after an $80 instant discount, and you can shave off another $20 with a MIR. This puppy has an IPS panel, a built-in USB 3.0 hub, and a 1920×1200 resolution. I can vouch for its USB 2.0 predecessor, too; I have three PA246Qs sitting in front of me.
- MicroATX systems seem to be more and more popular these days, and Corsair’s Obsidian Series 350D looks like one of the nicer enthusiast-oriented cases for the form factor. It normally sells for $100, but Newegg knocks off $10 right off the bat, and you can trim another $20 with a MIR. Shipping is free.
- Ivy ultrabooks are on sale to make way for next-gen Haswell models. Newegg has taken 22% off Asus’ Zenbook Prime, bringing it down to $860 with free shipping. This three-pound, 13.3-incher is nicely equipped with a 1080p IPS display, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, and a Core i5-3317U processor.
The holiday in Canada was July 1, so it’s business as usual today at NCIX. The retailer has a Wrangle the Savings sale this week with discounts on a wide range of hardware. Notable deals include Fractal Design’s Define XL R2 chassis, which is 50% off at $100, and a Logitech bundle with a G710+ mechanical keyboard and G700 wireless mouse for $160.
