Get creative with PC parts to win a Radeon HD 7950, premium tower case, and 1TB HDD

Our great summer o' giveaways continues. Today, with the help of the kind folks at Newegg, we have three prizes up for grabs: a PowerColor Radeon HD 7950, a Samsung P3 1TB portable external hard drive, and a Rosewill Throne gaming enclosure.

Here's the skinny on these prizes:

  • Priced at $269.99 before a $30 mail-in rebate, the PowerColor card is a stock version of the Radeon HD 7950 Boost outfitted with AMD's nice blower-style cooler, which exhausts hot air directly out of the case. It's clocked at the reference speeds (850MHz base, 925MHz Boost) and has 3GB of GDDR5 memory running at 5GT/s.
  • The Samsung P3 1TB external hard drive costs $99.99 and, at 4.4" x 3.2" x 0.6", is small enough to fit in your pocket. It packs a terabyte of storage capacity, a USB 3.0 interface, and pre-loaded backup and encryption software.
  • Finally, the Rosewill Throne enclosure will set you back $189.99. (Note that only the white version is listed right now, but we'll be giving away the black model.) This is a full-sized tower with E-ATX and XL-ATX motherboard support. It has 10 removable, side-mounted hard-drive bays, six fans, a docking bay at the top, and all the goodies you'd expect from a high-end gaming enclosure, such as rubber-lined cable routing holes in the motherboard tray.

Put together, the loot is worth around $560—and all of it will go to a single winner.

The contest entry process is a little different this time. Rather than fill in a form, we're asking contestants to get a little creative: slap together some PC parts into something that looks anthropomorphic, like a robot or a person. Take a picture of the result, and post the picture in the contest entry thread in our forums. Here's an example:

The winner will be whoever posts the most original or funniest picture by the entry deadline of August 12 at noon, CDT.

Head over to the contest thread in our forums to read the rules and participate. Note that you must post in that thread to enter the contest. Contributions submitted in the comments to this post will not be accepted.

Good luck!
