Aah, lengthy gameplay trailers. No better way to start off your Monday! WB Games has posted a 17-minute video full of Batman: Arkham Origins action on YouTube, and you can watch it below:
Arkham Origins features a Batman early on in his career—and with a $50-million bounty on his head. In the video, our masked hero fights some thugs in the Gotham City streets, pays Alfred a visit in the Batcave, and then infiltrates the Gotham City police headquarters. Interestingly, at this point in the story, Batman has no real allies among the police. In fact, he must fend off corrupt SWAT officers after their share of the bounty.
I skipped through most of the video, and as far as I can tell, neither the graphics nor the gameplay look all that different from what we got in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, the previous two titles in the series. Those older games were both well received, so I suppose following the formula is a good thing. I might have to pick up Arkham Origins when it comes out on Friday.
