Deal of the week: Discounted memory, cheap graphics, and more
It's finally happened. I've succumbed to the scourge of bulleted lists. They kinda make sense for our weekly deals post, where there's little potential for a meaningful narrative. So, let's get started.
- System memory prices are rising, but Newegg has a sweet deal on 8GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 memory. The DIMMs are priced at $80 each, and coupon code NVEXCLS60 knocks 'em down to $60—a nice deal for low-profile modules from a trusted name. These puppies have reasonably low latency, too.
- Need an affordable graphics upgrade? There's a hot-clocked MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB selling for $130, a $20 discount. And there's a $20 mail-in rebate on top of that. This card also comes with two free games from AMD's Never Settle Forever bundle.
- Yeah, yeah, another cheap SSD. But how can you not like Kingston's HyperX 3K 240GB, which is just $175? The drive offers good all-around performance, and its MLC NAND is more robust than the TLC flash found in some other drives in this price range. The HyperX has that snazzy bushed aluminum shell, too. Mmmmm. Brushed aluminum.
North of the border, NCIX's Huge Halloween Sale Event is in full swing. Notable deals include Seagate's Barracuda 1TB, which is just $60, and Corsair's Graphite Series 600T, which is $40 off at $130.
