Deal of the week: SSDs, power supplies, and 144Hz monitors
We've got another short and sweet deal post for you guys this week, with a small collection of hardware bargains:
- Kingston's SSDNow V300 240GB solid-state drive is $119.99 at Newegg after the $10-off promo code EMCPHHC25. That takes us just under the 50 cents-per-gigabyte threshold, which is a rare thing for an SSD. The V300 has a peak transfer rate of 450MB/s for both read and writes, and it's covered under a three-year warranty. Don't wait too long, though: the promo code expires today.
- Corsair's CX600 power supply is $37.99 after a $12-off promo code (EMCPHHB25) and a $20 mail-in rebate. This is the non-modular version of the CX600M power supply that we've featured in a number of our recent System Guides. It has a 600W output rating, a beefy 12V rail, 80 Plus Bronze certification, and a three-year warranty.
- Finally, Asus' VG248QE 24" 144Hz monitor is $251.99 after a 10%-off promo code (EMCPHHC23). We're generally more partial to monitors with IPS panels, but we can't deny the appeal of a TN display with an uber-high refresh rate. This one will do up to 144Hz at 1080p. It also supports Nvidia's (separately sold) 3D Vision glasses, so you can enjoy stereoscopic goodness—provided your graphics card is powerful enough.
That's it for our U.S. deals. North of the border, NCIX's Time-to-Upgrade Sale Event is in full swing. There are, as always, many items to choose from. A couple of the ones that caught my eye are Kingston's SSDNow V300 240GB, which NCIX sells for $144.99 CAD, and Adata's SP600 128GB SSD, which is down to $72.99 CAD.
