Far Cry 4 coming on November 18 for Windows, consoles

Wow. I must have been asleep at the switch, because I had no idea there was another Far Cry game so close to release. Apparently there is, though. Ubisoft announced yesterday that Far Cry 4 will be out on in November for Windows PCs along with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Those of us in North America will get the game on November 18, while our friends across the pond will have to wait until the 20th.

I don't believe any screenshots or videos of the game have been released yet, but Ubisoft has revealed the box art along with the following synopsis:

In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.

The Himalayas, huh? Well, I hope the game will have graphics gorgeous enough to peak my interest. Else I might be tempted to give it a pass.

(Sorry. Sorry.)

The official landing page for the game says the "E3 world gameplay premiere" will go down on June 9, so I guess we'll know more about the game then. In the meantime, you can already pre-order Far Cry 4 from Uplay. Ubisoft says pre-orders get a free upgrade to the Limited Edition of the game, which will include a set of extra missions dubbed Hurks's Redepmtion as well as a harpoon gun nicknamed "The Impaler." I'm sure defending yourself against automatic weapon fire with just a harpoon gun will be a Hurkulean task. (Again, sorry.)
