AMD's game bundles keep getting sweeter. Starting today, Radeon R9 290, 290X, and 295 X2graphics cards will come with a complimentary code for Civilization: Beyond Earth. Sid Meier's latest opus will be available alongside the existing Space Edition bundle, which already entitles buyers to three games from a pool that includes Star Citizen and Alien: Isolation.
As one might expect, AMD has been working closely with Beyond Earth developer Firaxis. The two collaborated on not only a Mantle version of the game, but also a split-frame rendering scheme designed to eliminate multi-GPU microstuttering. According to VP Roy Taylor, AMD wants gamers to "freely experience that remarkable development work."
Here's the official gameplay trailer to whet your appetite:
The usual restrictions apply, of course; the offer only applies to "qualifying purchases from participating retailers." More details are available on the official promotion page.
For those keeping score, we should add that competing GeForce cards just got a new bundle of their own. That promo entitles GTX 980, 970, 780 Ti and 780 buyers to one game from a trio comprising Far Cry 4, The Crew, and Assassin's Creed Unity. (That deal also applies to notebookes with GeForce GTX 970M and 980M graphics.)
