In March, Nvidia began bundling select GeForce GTX 960, 970, and 980 graphics cards with download codes for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Today, it's expanding that program to include Batman: Arkham Knight—but only for the GTX 970 and 980. The GTX 960 has been left out of the "Two Times The Adventure" bundle, though it will continue to be available with The Witcher 3.
As one might expect, both titles are part of Nvidia's GameWorks program. Wild Hunt uses HairWorks effects for more realistic 'do and fur rendering, and it also employs cross-platform PhysX mojo for cloth, object destruction, and other effects. For Arkham Knight, Nvidia's blog post specifically mentions GPU-accelerated PhysX effects for destruction, clothing, and turbulence. Expect that eye candy to require GeForce hardware.
This page details the card vendors, e-tailers, and system builders taking part in the deal. Although EVGA and Zotac are the only card makers listed, Newegg already shows products from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and PNY bundled with the two games. Amazon, B&H, and NCIX are also taking part in the program.
Act quickly if you want to get in on these latest freebies. Nvidia says the bundle expires June 1, several weeks before Arkham Knight's June 23 release date. Wild Hunt is due earlier, on May 19.
