If a new report by DigiTimes is correct, Intel could officially announce its Skylake CPUs and accompanying chipsets at the Gamescom trade show in early August. The site claims that we’ll see the debut of the unlocked Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K there, along with the enthusiast-class Z170 chipset.

Digitimes also has some dirt on the rest of the Skylake lineup. We could see mainstream Core i7s and Core i5s based on the new silicon in late August or early September, alongside the H170 and B150 chipsets. As for the notebook versions of Skylake, Intel may release those parts in the fourth quarter of 2015.

These are just rumors, of course, but they track well with what we’ve heard about the Skylake lineup so far. If it’s true, more information about these new CPUs is a little over a month away, which is exciting news indeed. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open.
