VIA motherboards update

— 9:54 AM on September 12, 2001

DigiTimes tells you when to expect those VIA KT266A motherboards. If the early reviews from around the web are to be believed, VIA may have done a lot of things right, this time.

Here is what some OEM's are saying about the Intel and VIA soap opera:

Motherboard manufacturers said that the lawsuits would not affect their original shipment schedules, but they are concerned about the possibility that Intel might ask companies to withdraw P4X266 boards from the market in the future. Although VIA has filed a counter suit against Intel’s 845 chipsets, motherboard companies said that they are not worrying much about the potential threat.
Chipsets from ALi and SiS loom in the wings, not to mention ATI. Like it or not, the Pentium 4 will find its niche, after all.
