No need to check your clocks—we haven't gone back in time. BeamDog has announced an expansion for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, called Siege of Dragonspear. The expansion's storyline fills the space between the events of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II, kicking off after the demise of main baddie Sarevok. You can watch the trailer below:
Both Baldur's Gate games feature tons of content, and this expansion is no exception. Beamdog says Siege of Dragonspear adds 25 hours of gameplay, along with a new Shaman character class and new player companions. The expansion also allows you to import your Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition character and export it for Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, maintaining continuity between the original versions of the games. That means you still have a use for those shiny pantaloons.
If you're wondering what this is all about, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II and Icewind Dale were re-released in recent years under the Enhanced Edition moniker. If you've never played them, you owe it to yourself to check them out—they're some of the best RPGs ever made.
Beamdog has not announced a release date or pricing for Siege of Dragonspear.
