Be Quiet's Silent Base 800 cuts noise with a double-glazed window

German manufacturer be quiet! has released a new variant of their Silent Base 800 case. Dubbed the Silent Base 800 Window, it features a novel design for its side panel—the window is made of two individual sheets made of scratch-resistant polycarbonate, with 9 mm of air space between them to improve soundproofing.

The 800 Window comes preinstalled with three Pure Wings 2 fans—two 140-mm spinners at the front and a 120-mm unit at the rear. The fans, power supply, and hard drive mounts are all decoupled from the case's frame with rubber mounts in order to prevent vibration transmission. There's also room for two more fans at the top and another at the bottom, in either 140-mm or 120-mm flavors. Liquid-cooling is also an option on this case: the top section will allow for radiators up to 280 mm long, while the front and rear of the case have 140-mm and 120-mm mounts available, respectively.

Seven 3.5" and four 2.5" drives can be installed in tool-free bays, and the case can accept graphics cards up to 11.4" in length, or 14.8" if a hard drive cage isn't installed in the middle slot.

The Silent Base 800 Window is available only in black, with options for orange, black, and silver trims. Pricing is set at $149.90 in the US and 149.90€ in Europe, available immediately. The company also sells the individual windowed side panel for $29.90 as an add-on for the regular Silent Base 800. The panel should also be compatible with the upcoming Silent Base 600 model.
