Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor-Martyr is a proudly grim RPG

— 11:53 AM on July 17, 2015

Van Helsing developer Neocore is making an RPG based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor-Martyr puts the player in the shoes of an agent of the Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition, an organization that operates as the secret police of the Imperium. Neocore has released a trailer, but it doesn't give away much:

Neocore touts a dark single-player campaign with high-quality graphics. After the completion of the single-player campaign, the game will apparently transition to an open-world persistent setting that will provide "years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content." In keeping with the setting, the release uses plenty of words like "brutal" and "visceral." Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor-Martyr is due sometime in 2016 for PC, Mac, and current-generation consoles.
