OnePlus 2 firmware update fixes Stagefright vulnerability

— 12:14 PM on August 21, 2015

Like most Android phones, the OnePlus 2 shipped vulnerable to Stagefright attacks. The company has corrected that issue in an over-the-air (OTA) firmware update, which also includes some other goodies. Here's the full change log:

  • Added a patch for the Stagefright security exploit
  • Improves battery performance
  • Improves user interface logic and coherence
  • Fixed an issue with pinch-to-zoom in Google Photos
  • Fixed an issue where Dark Mode would cause instability in certain apps
  • Fixed an issue related to import/export of contacts stored on SIM card
  • Additional support for global carrier APNs
  • Other improvements and bug fixes

According to OnePlus, the update is rolling out in India first, and it may take some time to get to other regions. If you're in a hurry, and if you actually have a OnePlus 2 (and you trust people on the Internet), this thread on XDA Developers has a link to the OTA update, as well as the full ROM.
