Later this month, Google is expected to show off updated Nexus hardware and an updated Chromecast. Spoilers for this even keep popping up, and this time, they're for those Nexus phones. Conflicting rumors of next-gen LG and Huawei Nexus phones may both be true: updated Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 devices are expected to arrive next week, according to a report by Android Police.
Photos of LG's purported Nexus 5X and a Nexus 6P made by Huawei have both popped up on the site. The LG Nexus 5X is allegedly a 5.2" phone that looks more like a Nexus 6 than its namesake, with a round camera hump. Meanwhile, the 5.7" Huawei-made Nexus 6P will apparently pay homage to a different Motorola family, the Droid RAZR series, with a prominent camera hump across its top edge. Both phones are styled with gray Nexus logos on white bodies, and they both have circular dimples on their backs that look suspiciously like Apple's Touch ID sensor.
Android Police has photos of the retail packaging for both phones, too. The labels on the packages indicate both the Nexus 5X and 6P will come with 32GB of storage, and the box art uses silhouettes that seem to confirm the appearances of the two phones. Google's event is just next Tuesday, September 29, so we shouldn't have to wait long to learn more.
