Deals of the week: Crucial's MX200 500GB SSD and more

— 2:15 PM on October 2, 2015

Happy Friday, gerbils. Pickings were slim for deals this week, but we've still found a couple bargains worthy of your hard-earned dollars today.

  • Newegg has Crucial's MX200 500GB SSD on "Shell Shocker" sale for $159.99. This fully-featured SSD is one of the best performers in its class, and Newegg's sale price brings the cost-per-gigabyte figure to 32 cents.
  • TigerDirect keeps digging up stock of Crucial's M500 960GB SSD for a good price. The retailer has this drive on sale for $299.99, and a $30 rebate offer could bring the price down to a mere $269.99. The M500 is getting a little up there in years, but for bulk solid-state storage, it's hard to beat for this price, especially if the rebate offer is honored.
  • Newegg also has Samsung's 850 EVO 250GB SSD for $79.99 with promo code AFSAMSSD928B. For those with small game libraries or less demanding storage needs, this SSD should serve well as a zippy system drive.

That's it for this week—if we missed anything in our search for bargains, be sure to share your findings with other TR readers in the comments.
