Yoga Home 900 27" all-in-one doubles as a tablet

— 3:49 PM on October 19, 2015

Lenovo's Yoga Home 900 is 27 inches of portable all-in-one desktop. No, you didn't just misread that sentence. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, I know.

To make the Home 900 portable, Lenovo fitted it with a battery that it claims is good for up to three hours. The all-in-one's 27," 1080p screen is touch-enabled, and the unit can be laid back on a table to become something like Microsoft's original Surface. It's probably best to exercise some caution when moving this Yoga around, since it weighs 17 lbs (or 7.6 kg). An iPad this isn't.

Being portable doesn't necessarily imply having limited hardware, though. The Home 900 can be outfitted with Broadwell Core i7 CPUs and up to 8GB of RAM. Buyers can add Nvidia's GeForce 940A with 2GB of RAM for discrete graphics power if it's needed. Storage-wise, the Home 900 can be configured with HDDs or SSHDs up to 1TB in size. Lenovo claims the Home 900 has "enhanced photo facial recognition", courtesy of a 1080p webcam. Obviously, a cordless keyboard and mouse come as standard equipment.

Software-wise, you get Windows 10 and access to Lenovo's Aura store with "apps [...] optimized just for the Yoga Home 900."The Lenovo Yoga Home 900 will be available soon for a starting price of $1,549.
