Deals of the week: a $270 terabyte SSD and more

— 9:45 AM on November 6, 2015

Happy Friday, gerbils. Welcome back to our regularly scheduled deals of the week. We've hit a particularly rich vein of bargains this time around, especially for SSDs. Let's get to it.

  • Newegg has Mushkin's Reactor 1TB SSD for $269.99 with promo code EMCKKAP25. That's quite the deal for a big hunk of solid-state storage, and this drive offers high-end performance for a bargain price, too.

  • If you don't need a terabyte SSD, Newegg also has OCZ's Arc 100 240GB SSD for $64.99 straight up. This drive is a budget favorite of ours, and it's an even better deal when it's running just $0.27 per gigabyte.

  • Want a slightly fancier drive? Newegg has Samsung's 850 EVO 240GB SSD for $74.99 after promo code ESCKKAT23. It should go without saying that the 850 EVO is also a great performer, and that extra $10 gets you features like built-in encryption support.

  • Want a bigger EVO? Newegg has Samsung's 850 EVO 500GB SSD for $152.99 after promo code AF15SAM1105A. If a top-performing drive for $0.30 a gigabyte isn't appealing enough, Newegg is also throwing in a free Assassin's Creed Syndicate game code, a $59.99 value on Steam as of this writing. Keep the code and enjoy, or flip it and make this drive even cheaper.

  • Jealous of the twin Asus Strix GeForce GTX 980 cards in Scott's Skylake Damagebox? You can get one (or two) of your own on deep discount from Newegg. The site has the card on sale for $469.99, and a $30 mail-in rebate offer could sweeten that deal even further.

  • Don't have GTX 980 money? Newegg has EVGA's GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0+ on sale for $289.99 straight up. This is a stock-clocked card, but the beefy twin-fan cooler EVGA straps on top looks amenable to some overclocking.

Whew. That's it for this week. If you find a bargain we overlooked, be sure to share with other TR readers in the comments.
