Early deals of the week: a $209.99 1TB SSD and more

— 8:03 AM on March 8, 2016

We usually like to hold off on a deals-of-the-week post until Friday, but today, we're breaking with protocol to share some solid deals on SSDs at the 'Egg that expire soon. Without further ado:

  • SSDs still have a long ways to go to achieve price parity with mechanical storage, but products like the Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 1TB SSD are pushing the envelope. At $209.99 after promo code EMCEHEM85, this is the lowest price we've seen this MLC drive hit. 21 cents per gigabyte is nothing to sniff at for an MLC SSD.

  • In case 1TB is an embarassment of riches, the smaller Mushkin Enhanced ECO3 480GB SSD is also on sale. For $99.99 after promo code EMCEHEM84, the ECO3 serves up 480GB of TLC storage at a similar $/GB ratio as the Reactor.

  • Joining the party is the OCZ ARC 100 480GB SSD. Like the Reactor, this drive uses MLC memory. The Arc 100 is a budget favorite of ours thanks to its above-its-weight-class performance. It can be had for $109.99 after promo code EMCEHEM28.

  • If the SATA 6Gbps speeds of the drives above just aren't fast enough for you, you may want to consider the Intel 750 400GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 SSD. This MLC drive leverages PCIe and NVMe to deliver some truly blistering performance, but you'll need a dedicated PCIe slot for it. This drive is on sale for $299.99, no codes necessary.

The Mushkin deals expire on March 9 at 11:59 PM PT, and the sale on the OCZ and Intel drives expires a day later. If you spot any other intriguing deals at this point in the week, be sure to share them in the comments below.
