Pentium 4 to be cloned?

— 7:02 AM on October 17, 2001

EBN has VIA's stunning announcement.

Via's new "Pentium 4 clone" processor--dubbed the CZA--utilizes the same design concepts as Intel's Pentium 4 chip. Based on 0.10-micron technology, Via's 2-GHz CZA is due out in 2003 or 2004.
VIA may need a licence from Intel before bringing this processor to market.
