Early Black Friday deals: a cornucopia of cheap Intel CPUs

— 4:21 PM on November 23, 2016

The early Black Friday deals keep rolling in. This round is for Intel CPUs. Several Skylake and Broadwell-E chips are on deep discount at Newegg, and it'd be a crime not to share.

  • The Core i3-6100 is just $104.99 right now at Newegg, its lowest price ever. This speedy Skylake System Guide staple has two cores and four threads clocked at an impressive 3.7 GHz, so it's the perfect choice for modest productivity work or most any budget 1080p gaming machine.

  • For unlocked Skylake goodness, the quad-core Core i5-6600K is just $219.99 at Newegg, while the four-core, eight-thread Core i7-6700K is just $299.99. While the Core i5-6600K has been available for slightly less at e-tail, the Core i7-6700K is at an all-time low. Either of these CPUs are great for gaming, and the Core i7-6700K is one of the most powerful CPUs around, period. Just be sure to pick up an aftermarket CPU cooler to go with either chip, and make it a beastly one if you plan to overclock the i7-6700K.

  • If you need more cores and threads than either Skylake chip above, the six-core, 12-thread Core i7-6800K is $379.99 at Newegg, while the Core i7-6850K is $499.99. Both of these Broadwell-E chips are unlocked for easy overclocking, but the i7-6800K only offers 28 PCIe lanes to X99 motherboards, and its clocks only run at 3.4 GHz base and 3.6 GHz boost speeds. The i7-6850K boasts a full 40 lanes of PCIe 3.0 and 200-Mhz higher stock clock speeds all around, so it's the Broadwell-E chip we'd prefer. Be sure to add a beefy CPU cooler to your cart with these chips, as well.

Those are the best CPU deals we've seen so far in this pre-Black Friday period, but be sure to share any that we might have missed in the comments.
