Friday night topic: The sad state of academia
Now that grievance politics has swallowed up the American universities wholesale, many folks are wondering why they should pay upwards of $20K/year to send their kids to elite universities. Others of us are feeling ripped off after the fact. This guy was my advisor. Naturally, I decided to cancel plans for further study. Sometimes, I wonder if basic sense will be restored in the academy in my lifetime, and the more I think about it, the more pessimistic I become. Our culture's best hope is to ignore our "scholars." Discuss.
