Intel, AMD report strong sales
Both Intel and AMD released earnings statements for the fourth quarter of 2001 this week, and, as some folks had suspected, processor sales were strong. Intel reported $7 billion in revenue, while AMD sales totaled nearly $1 billion. Both companies reported record microprocessor sales, closing out a dreadful year with a pretty decent quarter. Intel turned a profit, while AMD lost less money than expected.
