Broadband or horsepower?

— 10:25 PM on April 8, 2002

After letting the graphics fanboys have at it for two weeks, it's time for a new poll. However, before we get into this week's topic, let's see who is making the graphics chips in TR readers' boxes. NVIDIA makes the graphics chip in an overwhelming 60% of voters' primary graphics cards with ATI a distant second at only 23%. Matrox's 7% just edged out 3dfx's 6%, and Imagination Tech's Kyro garnered 2% of the vote. S3/VIA, Trident, and the others all came in with a scant 1%.

This week we're asking you to choose between broadband and horsepower:

If you had to pick, would you rather have broadband and a Pentium 75, or 28.8Kbps dial-up and a Pentium 4 2.4GHz?
Take a few minutes to agonize over where your priorities really lie, and go vote.
