VIA "KT400" block diagram appears

A French website by the name of X86-secret.com has stumbled upon some VIA Apollo "KT400" information. VIA's as-yet-unannounced core logic chipset features the new VT8377 North Bridge and VT8235 South Bridge. The block diagram (in English, yeah!) gives you a good idea of what to expect. It will support AGP 8X, ATA/133, and DDR400—among other things. It will also be backward-compatible with today's 'slower' DDR memory, too. When combined with AMD's seemingly long-in-gestation Thoroughbred, will VIA's latest enable the Athlon platform to wrest back the performance crown from Intel's Pentium 4?

Like what we're doing? Pay what you want to support TR and get nifty extra features.
