Despite NVIDIA's claims that the NV30 should be available in time for the holidays, The Inquirer is reporting that the chip has yet to tape out:
To which the analyst responded saying "So it has not been taped out yet".This is huge news, and it means that ATI's window of opportunity for the Radeon 9700 just got a lot bigger.
Finally, Huang conceded that no, NV30 hadn't yet taped out, although the firm was in the process of "wrapping it up".
