Abit revamps warranty service

— 5:46 AM on September 6, 2002

Abit has announced a new "Boundaryless" service and support scheme that actually looks pretty good. The new plan includes a three-year parts warranty on all motherboard and graphics cards (2 years labor), but what's more interesting is that the plan cuts out the vendor as a middle man. Instead of making you go through your local vendor, Abit is promising direct RMA processing that should be a lot faster. They're also throwing in 24/7 online support as an added bonus.

Abit doesn't have a reputation for exceptionally low RMA numbers, and they do cater to a market that makes a habit of pushing components to their limits, so the new plan makes a lot of sense. Thanks to the [H]ard|OCP for the tip.
