nForce2 promised in volume for October
DigiTimes is reporting that, finally, NVIDIA has worked out the glitches in its nForce2 chipset and is promising volume shipments to its partners for October:
According to sources, Nvidia recently informed clients that related technology problems have been solved and it will begin volume shipments early next month. First-tier motherboard makers such as Asustek Computer and Micro-Star International (MSI) said they expect to receive the chipsets on October 1 at the earliest.
It will still take some time before we see nForce2-based products on store shelves, but it's comforting to know that NVIDIA has worked out the details for this widely-anticipated chipset. What can dual-channel DDR400 do for the Athlon XP's performance? We're one step closer to finding out.
