Tom on the Via KX133

— 1:06 AM on February 7, 2000

Thomas Pasbt has published a review of Via's net Athlon motherboard chipset, the KX133. Tom has done a nice job with this review, catching a serious performance problem with the KX133 and OpenGL in Windows NT. Be sure to read his follow-up article on the new drivers NVIDIA sent him that seem to resolve the problem. Once all is said and done, you'll have a much better idea why the Pentium III Coppermine has been able to keep up with the Athlon in a number of tests... and about why that situation may soon change.
