Apparently, we've been naughty, not nice. An article at TheStreet.com has confirmed that NV30 will not make it out in time for the holidays:
Yesterday Nvidia said its flagship NV30 chip won't be available in time for Christmas.I expect we'll see a whole lot of GeForce4 Ti 4200s with AGP 8X on holiday shelves, and probably a good number of GeForce4 Ti 4600s with AGP 8X support, too. However, it looks like ATI will own high-end desktop graphics with its Radeon 9700 Pro until at least next year. By then. there's no telling what they'll have to go up against the NV30.
So, despite the fact that we're definitely ready, it appears that NVIDIA isn't.
