Ars dissects the microprocessor

Ars Technica has published the first installment of its guide to understanding the microprocessor. This first article starts out with the basics, but later installments will cover more advanced topics. If you want a little extra insight on what's going on behind the numbers in our various processor reviews, or want to PYAITK before we start talking about new processor architectures from AMD, Intel, and IBM, this introductory article is a great place to start.
