A press release from Gigabyte hit my inbox announcing the GA-SINXP1394, a Socket 478 motherboard powered by SiS' new 655 chipset. The SiS 655 chipset's specs aren't listed on SiS' web site yet, but Gigabyte's press release has the scoop. According to the Gigabyte relese, the SiS 655 chipset supports dual channel DDR400 memory and Hyper-Threading technology. With 6.4GB/s of available memory bandwidth, the dual-channel DDR400-equipped SiS 655 could give Intel's Granite Bay chispet a run for its money.

According to the press release, the board features Serial ATA, ATA/133 IDE RAID, Firewire, and all sorts of other goodies. The GA-SINXP1394 isn't listed on Gigabyte's web site at the moment, but you can take a peek at the specs of their GA-8SQ800, which looks identical.

Tip: You can use the A/Z keys to walk threads.
