Sorry about all the server problems today. Turns out we had a bad DIMM in our new web server. We'd been tracking the problem for several days, and I thought it was some kind of Linux kernel bug. We were seeing intermittent crashes, until finally the server wouldn't boot. I figured we'd somehow dorked up the OS install updating gcc and compiling a new kernel, but the guys from Defender Hosting heroically managed to diagnose the problem and isolate the bad memory module. Thank goodness. Soon, our second server will be online to take up the slack when the primary croaks. Hopefully pulling out the bad memory module will keep things sane at least until then.
