Sorry we missed this earlier. Creative has announced that the Audigy 2 will get the Viagra treatment.

SINGAPORE, – February 5, 2003 – Creative Technology Ltd. (NASDAQ: CREAF), the worldwide leader in digital entertainment for PC users, today announced immediate shipment of the only THX®-certified consumer sound card capable of DVD-Audio quality 24-bit/96kHz recording in 5.1 channels. The new Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 Platinum eX includes the convenient and easy-to-use Audigy 2 External I/O Module for studio quality connectivity through three analog stereo connections, plus optical and coaxial digital I/O, full-sized MIDI I/O and two SB1394™ (FireWire®) ports. Featuring ASIO™ 2.0 support for low-latency recording and a host of music creation software, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX enables aspiring musicians to use the PC as a recording studio, all for only US$249.99.
Now Creative's previous attempt at 24-bit/96kHz recording is kind of a sore subject around these parts so I'm looking forward to the TR review.
Tip: You can use the A/Z keys to walk threads.
