Want to play video games for a living?

Slashdot pointed me to an interesting article that reveals what being a game tester is really like. On the surface, testing video games sounds like a great job description, but the realities of the job aren't quite so rosy:

Life is not all fun and games for Alamano, though. It's all games -- with little time left for sleeping or eating, at least during the busy months before Christmas. The longest week he has logged was 106 hours, and 60-hour- plus weeks are typical in deadline crunches, he said.
While even 106 hours of playing video games a week may sound great to some, few realize that game testing and game playing are very different things. At least according to the few game testers I know, the job can be painfully tedious as every aspect of a title must be tested over and over again.
