Seventh-gen CPUs compared

I saw a link at the AMD Zone to this article on seventh-gen CPUs. It may be a bit technical for some, but it looks interesting. There's a recent update to the article that covers some of the recent info released about Intel's seventh-gen design, the Williamette. There's a good, one-line summary of what how Intel's next CPU will likely perform:

On the surface it appears as though the Willamette processor will do very well on integer code with lots of dependencies, however, will not fair as well as the Athlon on floating point.
Initial reports have been skeptical about Williamette's x87 floating-point math performance, and FP math is where all the fun stuff happens. I've read that you'll have to use Intel's new SSE2 extensions to make the Williamette really scream.
