Abit marketing ploy

— 9:14 PM on February 21, 2000

Abit has decided to develop their own Linux distro for their hardware rather than write drivers like most companies. It is a good marketing trick, riding in on the latest Linux trends and convincing someone into "needing" your products. I hope it doesn't lead other hardware companies into producing their own distros. I'd hate to have to partition up my hard drive and boot to a different OS just to have ideal hardware support for each peripheral in my PC. Anyhow, I can't deal with the defaced penguin mascot Abit has created.
