As ATI announces that Radeon 9800 Pro shipments have begun, The Inquirer is reporting that NV30-based graphics cards are scarce at best. Reportedly, only hundreds of NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce FX 5800 Ultra are becoming available. NVIDIA had originally claimed it would be shipping thousands of cards.

Though supplies appear to be very limited, Newegg expects stock of Asus and PNY’s GeForce FX 5800 Ultras by the end of the week, more than four months after the GeForce FX’s initial launch.
