Shuttle expects huge XPC sales growth

— 3:49 AM on April 15, 2003

DigiTimes has an interview with Shuttle chairman David Yu revealing that Shuttle plans to sell 600,000 small form factor XPC systems this year—more than double last year's sales of 250,000. Because small form factor systems don't even make up 1% of the total desktop PC market, Shuttle sees plenty of room for growth.

To date, Shuttle's competitors haven't been able to mount much of an assault on the wide range of XPC small form factor systems. However, MSI's upcoming Mega PC does look better than anything Shuttle has come up with for the media PC market thus far. As additional manufacturers jump on the small form factor bandwagon, we're sure to see more innovative and functional designs, making it that much more tempting to ditch those full tower cases for good.
