AMD responds to Celeron price cuts

AMD has also gone to the back lot and done its own axe work to the price of its Athlon XP processors. The unkindest cut will be to AMD's ASP (average selling price), with significant discounts, as large as 31.8% to the XP 2600+ and 28.2% to the 2500+ Barton. Specifically responding to Intel's recent price reductions, AMD has created model-to-MHz price parity by matching its 2100+ and 2400+ prices to those of the Celeron 2.1GHz and 2.4GHz, respectively, as shown in this table.
