Cornice offers 1.5GB in 1" hard drive

C|Net has an article on Cornice, a new micro hard drive start-up that has developed a 1.5GB drive that's only 1" in diameter. What's more, the drive is available for only $65 in volume, which will allow Samsung to release a cigarette pack-sized digital video camera using the drive for only $600 this summer.

Twelve companies already have plans to release products using the tiny 1.5GB wonder, which seems perfect for digital cameras, MP3 players, PDAs, and even portable game consoles. Cornice's volume price target is $50, which should allow manufacturers to use the drive in not only high-end products, but also more affordable devices.
