You may have noticed in Geoff's Xtasy 9800 Pro 256MB review that we used a series of game demos recorded internally here for benchmarking. This change is one of the steps we're taking to foil some of the more common cheats perpetrated by graphics chip companies. We've made the demos available for download, so you can reproduce our results, see what kind of graphics loads we're testing, and the like. Of course, since we're making them public, we'll have to update our demos with some regularity in order to avoid custom clipping planes, level-specific texture quality degradation, and all the rest.

Using new demos is part of a larger, ongoing effort, because that alone won't suffice. We'll also rotate new games and benchmarks in as often as is reasonable, and we'll randomly modulate our shield frequencies.
