Mobile graphics chips compared

— 4:57 AM on September 15, 2003

AnandTech has a good comparison of ATI and NVIDIA's mobile graphics offerings. The article pits the Mobility Radeon 9600 against the GeForce FX Go5650 in a number of DirectX 9 applications, and is the first mobile graphics chip comparison I've seen that uses an identical test system for both graphics chips. As you might expect, the results don't bode well for NVIDIA. The Mobility Radeon 9600 is consistently a better performer than the GeForce FX Go5650, especially in newer titles like Half-Life 2, AquaMark 3, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness.
