Latest Windows worms linked to spam
There's more evidence to suggest that spammers are responsible for the recent wave of worms to hit Windows PCs. It looks like the worms may not only be sending spam from infected machines, but also launching denial of service attacks against popular anti-spam services.
Since spamming apparently pays quite well, I can't imagine there being a shortage of cash to fund efforts to topple anti-spam services. If anti-spam black lists continue to come under attack, intelligent filtering may become the only viable way to weed out legitimate email from an ever-increasing number of herbal Viagra ads and free eBay tips.
