Study: Multiple monitors increase productivity
EE Times is reporting on a study done by NEC-Mitsubishi, ATI, and the University of Utah that discovered that using multiple monitors increases productivity and usability. Enthusiasts already basking in the joy that is an extended desktop will no doubt be vindicated by the study, which could also be useful in justifying a second monitor purchase to a boss or significant other.
Given ATI's role in the study, it's no surprise that the latest Catalyst 3.8 drivers offer a simplified Hydravision interface for those unfamiliar with multimonitor software. Ideally, the study will encourage graphics card vendors to offer new and innovative multimonitor features in software, and maybe, just maybe, dual DVI in hardware.
