The busted monitor story that wasn't?
We didn't post about this one initially because it seemed a little suspect, but it is intriguing. Someone started some rumors about the new Catalyst 3.8 drivers causing overheating problems and breaking monitors via a refresh rate glitch. ATI, however, says it ain't so. Personally, I've not received a single reader complaint or a credible first-hand report of a problem from a trusted source. So the questions are: are ATI's spiffy new drivers really zapping monitors, and if not, who is spreading the FUD? Hmm.
