C|Net is reporting that Microsoft's next Xbox console will use processor technology from IBM. Microsoft has already announced that ATI will be providing the graphics technology for the Xbox, which leaves the new console's chipset technology up in the air.
I'm tempted to wildly speculate that Xbox 2 collaboration could lead ATI to produce a PC chipset for IBM's new PowerPC 970, but that would be a bit of a stretch, at least for now. Still, it's an interesting thought to ponder.
