ATI has managed to squeeze its R3x0 technology into a graphics chips for mobile workstations. The Mobility FireGL T2-128 is powered by ATI's FGL 9600 VPU and ready to take on professional 3D applications.

It took a while for notebook manufacturers to pick up on the Mobility Radeon 9600, which was ATI's first mobile DirectX 9 part. However, it looks like HP is ready to go with a Mobility FireGL T2-equipped notebook right off the bat. HP's Centrino-powered NW8000 is currently available, offering an intriguing blend of great battery life, Wi-Fi, and workstation-class graphics capabilities.
